Newark Town’s very own brass band has over 50 years of rich musical history, providing quality entertainment in the field of brass music both within Newark and the surrounding area. The last few years for the band have been an incredibly exciting time as, having had a decline of players during the nineties, it has now got back to full strength through the drive and enthusiasm of its Musical Director, Peter Footitt.
The band’s repertoire includes a full spectrum from light popular music through film and operatic works to the more traditional bass band music of times gone by. With a mixture of performances from our many soloists through to full band ensembles the band always delivers performances to be remembered.
The band ‘family’ include people from all walks of life and with ages ranging from 13 to 78 years old. There are currently only a few official vacancies available in the band, but we are always welcoming of both new young talent and experienced players wishing to join us.
